We support and enhance individual and collective leadership capability to position members at the forefront of our profession.

The Alliance is committed to:

  • supporting differentiated growth for Independent Public Schools (IPS) principals through quality professional development and collaborative learning
  • leading structured principal mentoring and school-to-school support
  • building collective commitment and shared approaches to leadership development.

IPS Leadership Mentoring program

Supporting ideas, sharing solutions and leading change.

The Leadership Mentoring program is a new initiative from the IPS Alliance introduced in 2017, in partnership with the Queensland Educational Leadership Institute (QELi).

More than 60 IPS principals are engaged in working and learning together as part of the 2017–18 program.

The core goal is to connect IPS principals with experienced colleagues to support ideas, share solutions and help develop each other's capacity to challenge the status quo and lead school communities.

An effective mentoring relationship can provide a unique opportunity to engage, learn and be challenged by an individual whose perspectives, experiences and areas of expertise are different to your own.

For more information, contact Ms Melissa McArdle, IPS Alliance Manager.
