We collaborate extensively and develop networks as a force for improved outcomes across all Queensland schools.

The Alliance is committed to:

  • promoting Alliance practices and activities which enact collegial values.
  • supporting networks focused on improving school outcomes and building a force for change.
  • strengthening communication and partnerships with school councils, regions, central office, key stakeholders and other organisations.
  • hosting opportunities to network, share and celebrate the work of schools.

In 2017, the Alliance led a strong focus on strengthening partnerships, included a dedicated platform for school collaboration using MindHive.

The Independent Public Schools (IPS) Alliance Charter for Excellence—Partnering for Learning reflects what we stand for. It is a culmination of research, consultation across the Alliance and work contributed by many schools for the purpose of sharing ideas and building on each school's strengths.

By understanding the diversity of our school communities, we are well-placed to engage in deep dialogue and consider the impact of strategies to improve student learning, equity and wellbeing.

The charter outlines the guiding principles for our work and the valued partnerships we pursue to improve outcomes for students. It contains a series of school insights and models of school-led collaboration, strategic partnerships, community engagement and local governance which provide illustrations and shared practice across our schools.

A copy of the charter, further information, and resources by schools can be accessed in the support and resources section by IPS Alliance principals.
